a small holding; of tangling

Casted aluminium (-broad beans, earplugs, maple seed wing nuts, structures), steel pipe brushes and fixtures,

I am looking at the doormat / boot brush - a classic ‘Rappuralli’, as a place of intertwining.

I have made a reimagined this utility object. This version, a metal collage that reflects the uses of construction apparatus, and the protection / prevention of entangling environments beyond the gaps of the door mat, or the whiskers of its brushes.

I am seeing this object as a place of  coming together and providing space for an unexpected and surprising crossing over of urban and natural remains, fragments, particles or traces. An interface for capturing the casually unintended combinations of environments and interactions.
