A poem; made from thoughts on the gestures of time

Individually Cast maple seed m6 aluminum wingnuts, paper from my grandfathers archive, aluminum frame, manually rotational, chains/sprockets,  granite base  262 x 70 x 152 cm ( 820kg)

This piece was initially guided by the exceptional positioning of my window and my neighbor for sharing a sighting of sunrise. A moment revealing the impressiveness of what both cloud and chimney could unravel was highlighted by the first hours of the morning sun, shedding shimmer on the tenderness of presence, and the connectivity of time.

Now I am absorbed by the movement and postures of the circulating domes I see dancing on the peaks of buildings. I see the spinning aluminum objects smudging the flickering shadows provided by the shifting characteristics of the passing clouds.
A wobble of interaction and discovery of breath. blurring and encapsulating the communication of interior and exterior, the mechanical processes and motions created by the wind.
